MEHKO Spring Updates

Permit applications for Microenterprise Home Kitchen Operations (MEHKOs) were accepted beginning on February 25, 2022 and the first MEHKO permit in San Diego County was issued after a successful inspection on March 12, 2022.

"MEHKOs Day" was declared by the Board of Supervisors on April 25, 2022!

As of the end of April 2022, twenty-five MEHKO permits have been issued by the Department of Environmental Health and Quality (DEHQ) to home chefs across the county. Their new micro-businesses are beginning to open and thrive. Thanks for your support!
