San Diego County Food Vision 2030 Steering Committee Members

Today we’d like to announce 17 individuals we’re incredibly grateful for: the people who make up our San Diego County Food Vision 2030 Steering Committee.

Convening such a group to help guide the process was a critical first step of embarking on Food Vision 2030. We knew that realistically, creating a 10-year plan for San Diego County’s food system would be ambitious. We needed a web of support and expertise to multiply our capacity, increase our reach, include all parts of the food system and enable us to involve as many communities as possible.

We’re thrilled that these individuals stepped up! This diverse group includes forward-thinking, local leaders heavily involved in many issues and areas across San Diego County’s food system.

So far, the Steering Committee has played a critical role in ensuring that Food Vision 2030 is grounded in the values and aspirations of the Alliance and the broader community. They serve as our sounding board and advisors to our staff and consultants, and will support our community engagement process as we plan several Community Forums and Convenings in early 2020. Once research and engagement give way to report writing and website development in the middle of next year, the Committee will also serve as our editors and feedback providers.

We’re grateful for these folks and confident we have an amazing group of people working on Food Vision 2030!
