Alicia Saake has served on staff with Feeding San Diego for the last 7 years in various roles. In her current role as Chief Operations Officer, she oversees supply chain operations, hunger-relief programs and marketing. She graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a degree in philosophy and a focus on hunger-relief ethics. In 2013, she completed her Lean Enterprise Certificate at San Diego State University and uses lean practices to guide FSD’s efforts to more efficiently serve San Diegans facing hunger.
Under her leadership, FSD’s volunteer program was the first organization in San Diego to be certified as a Service Enterprise and was recognized as “The Best Place to Volunteer” in the UT San Diego’s “Best of” 2012 poll. During her first year as Volunteer Manager, Alicia was nominated as the “Rookie Volunteer Administrator of the Year” by the Volunteer Administrators Network in San Diego. In 2016, Alicia was also won Feeding America’s Western Regional Operations Leader Award.
