Nita Kurmins Gilson, Founding Director, ProduceGood

Nita Kurmins Gilson is a Founding Director at ProduceGood, a non-profit organization whose mission is to reduce waste and hunger by harvesting the extra bounty of San Diego county and delivering to those in need. Since starting a grassroots gleaning program, CropSwap, in 2009, to incorporating with partners Jerilyn and Alexandra White in 2014 to create ProduceGood, Nita has been promoting awareness of gleaning at both local and international events. She is presently Programs Director, overseeing four of ProduceGood’s food recovery programs: CropSwap (residential gleaning), Market Share (Farmer’s Market food recovery), Bumper Crop (small farm gleaning) and First Pick (corporate gleaning events).
