The workshops will teach attendees how composting food waste and green materials at home can improve the soil quality, reduce waste and air pollution, save energy, money, and water.

Join Solana Center for this 2-hour presentation where you will learn the basics of backyard composting and vermicomposting (composting with worms). Using trial-tested advice and interactive demonstrations, our expert educator will teach you all you need to know to get started with a bin that fits your needs and lifestyle.

Feel free to stay and explore this wonderful place with exhibits showing visitors how to make their own gardens beautiful and drought tolerant.

  • What tools and materials you'll need
  • Which items are compostable and which are not
  • Harvesting and using your compost
